Watch tiny Bramblekin survive, settle and build kingdoms in a living backyard.
Get it on Google PlayBramblekin is a calm, emergent survival simulation set in a hilly backyard, at the foot of a giant oak and beside a pond. Here live the Bramblekin: tiny folk in villages of acorns. Nobody tells them what to do. You watch their stories unfold.
Each one is born with a random personality: aggressive or gentle, outgoing or shy, clever or simple, rebellious or obedient, brave or cautious, hardworking or idle. They juggle thirst, hunger, safety, duties, home and company. Every drink means a walk to the pond, until clans catch rain in cisterns and dig wells. They pair up, raise children who inherit traits and family names, grow old and pass away.
Loners build tents from twigs. Groups form, share a home and hunt big game under a leader. Followers who dislike their leader may walk out, split off or challenge them. Clans grow into villages with a headman, a shared store and paid soldiers, healers, builders and scouts. Villages unite into kingdoms with a king, tribute and pledged soldiers. Neighbours ally or go to war, and swarms of invader spiders test every defence.
Seasons turn, day follows night, and droughts, storms, floods and sickness make for good years and bad. Clans farm, fish, herd aphids, harvest honey, build granaries, palisades and stone walls, hold feasts, raise shrines and trade. Thief ants raid from a great ant hill that a kingdom's soldiers may storm for its eggs.
No two gardens ever play out alike. Come back to see who has survived.
